"Pale tawny/amber colored with a green tinge at the rim, the NV 50 Year Old Rare Tawny (Series Three) has a gorgeous walnut and fruit cake-laced nose with a core of liquid licorice, coffee, treacle, roasted nuts and salted caramel. The palate is decadently rich and unctuous with tons of sweetness and the freshness to balance with an epically long fruit and nut finish: 99 Parker Points."

The 50 year-old Rare Tawny is a symbol of Penfolds Heritage, typifying collaboration and shared creative expression. It embodies craftsmanship and a interwoven dexterity of winemaking and time.
This exceptional fortified wine has been hand-filled into 330 unique hand-blown individually numbered bottles, designed by glass artist Nick Mount. It is sealed with a precision-turned wooden stopper, made from seasoned oak barrel staves sourced from Penfolds fortified maturation cellars.
The leather label, bespoke pewter features and the unusual hand-twisted muselet wire, all meticulously hand-fixed, complete a retro-modern aesthetic. All components have been constructed with time-honoured artisan skills.
Timeless and classic, this fortified wine symbolises a century of winemaking past and present.
The Penfolds 50 year-old Rare Tawny is an ultra-rare bottling of living history. Many components have vintage dates of great significance, the oldest material was vintaged in 1915. This extraordinarily beautiful wine, also comprising rare Tawny parcels from 1940, 1945, and post-world war II decades, characterises resilience, harmony and generosity of spirit.
With its deep Tawny crimson colour, warm seductive aromas, smooth silky textures and long crystal-clear brandied cut, it is the ultimate Penfolds Tawny. As per its inaugural release, series four is a strictly limited release of only 330 bottles.
