"In 1263, an ancestor of clan Mackenzie saved king Alexander III of Scotland from being gored by a stag whilst out hunting. The greatful king granted him the right to bear stag's head - A "12 pointer" or "Royal"- in his coat of arms.
The Mackenzie family owned the Dalmore distillery for almost a century, and their defining influence remains, with the iconic stag adoring every bottle of the Dalmore.
The third i a series of limited edition releases, our master distiller Richard Paterson has crafted this exceptional vintage 1996 in homage to the ancient lands of Cromartie, Heartland of clan Mackenzie and home of Castle Leod, the clan's historic seat.
A substantial contribution from the sale of every bottle will go towards the maintenance of the Clan estate at Cromartie.
